Frequently asked questions
Teacher assignments are usually released in Genesis a few days before the first day of school. We typically receive a "Welcome Back" email from Mr. MacConnell the day that teacher assignments are to be released.
To access teacher assignments, log in to Genesis and navigate to your student's profile. Your student's grade and teacher should be listed on their main summary screen.
If you are a new parent, navigate to Genesis and enter the email on file with SBS, then click "Forgot Password?" to receive instructions on how to set your password.
NOTE: Pre-K students will receive their teacher assignments in person at Pre-K orientation.

report the student's absence or lateness.
To report an absence, late arrival or early dismissal, you have two options:
1. Email the Main Office directly at: absent@sbs-nj.org (or use the button in the header of our site!)
2. Call 732-747-0882 and press 1 to leave a message after the tone
If any student is absent for three or more days, parents must notify the nurse of the reason for such absence. All contagious diseases must be reported to the nurse at 732-747-0882 ext. 301 as soon as diagnosed. A doctor’s note is needed for readmission.
If you are visiting SBS for a class party or a meeting, follow these steps:
Ring the bell at the Main Entrance
A security guard will ask why you're there, and buzz you in to the main vestibule
From there, you will use the tablet to select your reason for visit
You will be asked to scan your Federal ID and take a photo
Once your badge is printed, peel the backing off and place the sticker on your shirt
Once you've got your badge, ring the bell between the vestibule and the school
A security guard will buzz you in
Upon exiting the school, you must scan your badge using the tablet in the Main Vestibule in order to indicate that you left the building.
