Class Parent Guidelines

Thank you for volunteering to be a class parent! We hope to make the 2025-2026 school year successful and rewarding for students and teachers. As a class parent, teachers typically ask if you would like to attend the class field trip. the SPTA will also ask you to occasionally distribute SPTA info to the parents in the class.

Best Practices

  1. Email teachers to introduce yourself

    • In this email, ask for the class list with parent email addresses. You can also use this time to ask the teacher to inform you of any updates to the class list throughout the year.​

    • It is also helpful to ask for a list of planned parties

  2. Email parents & collect (optional) class dues​

    • Class dues are set at $40 per class. This is optional, but goes a long way in helping with class parties, supplies, etc. ​

    • Dues can be paid via cash, check, venmo, etc. Whatever your preference is!

  3. Prepare class budget based on dues collected​

    • How you spend your class dues is up to you. There are typically teacher gifts during teacher appreciation and end of year, and several parties throughout the year that you may need supplies for.​

    • A small portion of the class budget should be allocated to the SPTA gala art project.
